Walter Smith

Walter B. Smith, 98, of Mount Pleasant, Texas died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, in Sedan, Kansas. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 2, 2013. The family will recieve friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday March 1, 2013 at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Curry-Welborn Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith was born on August 15, 1914 in Pickton, Texas (near Winnsboro), the first born son of Escridge D. Smith and Ruby Dell Stokley. He was a charter member of Harmony Assembly of God and Dellwood Park Assembly of God, and pioneer with others of First Assembly of God in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
He is survived by his children David and Sharon:
David D. and Beckie Smith of Mombassa, Kenya, Africa; and Joanna Sharon and Jerry Alexander of Sedan, Kansas; 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grand children. One sister, Patsy Ruth Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents: Escridge D. and Ruby Dell Smith of Winnsboro, TX and brother, Harold Y. Smith of Mt. Pleasant, TX.
