Telzia McCoo

Telzia S. McCoo, age 68, of Mount Pleasant died Sunday, February 3, 2013, at his residence in Mount Pleasant TX. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the White Oak Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. D. C. Brown, pastor and officiate. The eulogy will be given by Rev. Herbert Jones. Interment will follow at the Piney Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, February 8, 2013, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Curry-Welborn Funeral Home.
Mr. McCoo was born January 31, 1945, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Telzie McCoo Sr. and Minnie O. Baker-McCoo. He was a member of the White Oak Missionary Baptist Church and served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam. He married Ina Marie Ards-McCoo in Dallas, TX on December 23, 1967, and attended Bishop College.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ina Ards-McCoo of Mount Pleasant; two sons, Marcus S. McCoo of Katy, TX and Myron S. McCoo of Hanover, New Hampshire; a brother, Boyd A. McCoo and (Rita) of Dallas; six sisters, Joy L. Raines and (Jimmy) of Austin, Joyce McCoo of Colleyville, Iva McCoo of Mount Pleasant, Jacqeline Adams and (Willie) of Dallas, Janice Royal and (Earl) of Longview and Ruby Williams and (Clearthur) of Dallas; an uncle, Morris C. McCoo of Dallas. He is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
