Shirley Smith

Shirley Jean Pierce Smith, age 75, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Greenhill Villas. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Peck officiating. Interment will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery with the grandchildren, "Lil Bill" and Stevie Adkinson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Davis and Brad Davis. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Friday, September 13, 2013 at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Curry-Welborn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith was born on February 4, 1938 in Shawnee, OK, the daughter of Hugh Pierce and Stella Bills Pierce.
She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Stinson and husband Wade of Mount Pleasant; a son, Jason Smith and significant other Zann Woods of Mount Pleasant; a stepson, Jay Smith and wife Deana of Norman, OK; five grandsons, Jeff Davis of Gilmer, Brad Davis of Gilmer, Jacob Smith of Mount Pleasant, Cole Smith of Mount Pleasant and Christopher Smith of Norman OK; three granddaughters, Amanda Green of Gilmer, Kerianne Tavarez of Tyler and Ashley Smith of Norman, OK; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William "Smut" Smith; a daughter, Darla Davis and numerous brothers and sisters.
