Shirley Parker, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2022. She was born in Holly Grove, Arkansas to Earl and Sophia Skinner. Shirley was married to the love of her life, Jimmie, for 62 years and was his constant and faithful companion in ministry. She always put others before herself, she had a heart for teaching children, and she enjoyed her family and grandkids. She made family time special. She faithfully served at the North Ridge Church of Christ for over 38 years and worked at the Titus County Tax Office for over 20 years. She also had a heart for missions work and ministered in Honduras, Ukraine, Jamaica, Canada, and the Island of Malta.
She is survived by her husband Jim; daughter Angie Beckett and husband, Randy; son Russ Parker and wife, Peggy; sister Joyce Dunavan; brother Walter Skinner; sister-in-law Peggy Medford and husband, Ulysses; grandchildren Natalie Smith, Cole Beckett, Ben Parker, and Jed Parker; great-grandchildren Cora Smith, Samuel Beckett, Nolan Parker, Isabela Beckett, and Gabriel Beckett; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Sophia Skinner; brothers Buddy Skinner, Vernon Skinner, Henry Skinner, Bobby Skinner, Jimmy Skinner, and John Skinner; and sisters Dora Bailey, Collene Chapman, Ginger Rhoads, Earlene Booker, and Betty Ruth George.
