Sallie Flannigan

Sallie Sue Flannigan, age 79, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on December 30, 2017 in Tyler TX.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at the New Beginnings Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Whitaker officiating. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Curry-Welborn Funeral Home with private burial to follow at Bridges Chapel Cemetery.

Sallie was born on December 23, 1938 in St. Petersburg, Florida to T.A. and Nell Scott. She graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in nursing. She was a registered nurse at Craighead Memorial Hospital for many years, and then went on to become the Director of Nursing at Greenleaf Psychiatric Hospital.

Sallie was a devoted Christian and ordained minister. Her life's mission was to spread the love of Jesus to everyone she met. She helped change the lives of many through her love and compassion.

She is survived by her children, Penni Cole of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Nicki Duncan of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Grandchildren; Cody Hays, Cole Farris, Chris Duncan, Cadi Duncan, and Crystal Cole. Great-grandchildren Ava, Hayden and Scarlett Hays, aunt, Ethel Scott of St. Petersburg, Florida. Brother, Dennis Scott of Clarkesville, Georgia, and sister, Jan Scott of Tallahassee, Florida. Sallie was preceded in death by her parents T.A. and Nell Scott.
