Rebeca Quezada

Rebeca “Becky” Lara Quezada, 68, of Pittsburg Tx, was born in Artesia, NM on June 22, 1951. She passed away in Mount Pleasant Tx surrounded by family and friends on August 7th, 2019.

She married Ramon “Lazaro” Quezada in Carlsbad NM in June 21, 1972. She loved music, her family, friends, and making people laugh. Rebeca also enjoyed collecting Coke paraphernalia, playing Nintendo, Rummy, Spades, Phase 10, drinking Sonic Ice, and loved saying when asked “how old are you Mrs. Quezada” she would say “I’m 28” and never aged from there. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, God children, and her “other” children who called her mom. And she claimed many as “my children”.

She is survived by her children Angela Gamboa (Art) of Albuquerque, NM, Raymond Quezada (Rhonda) of Pittsburg Tx, Robert Quezada (Tammy) of Mount Pleasant Tx, Lisa Quezada (Steve) Pittsburg Tx, and Lena Quezada (Zac) of Kilgore Tx. Four brothers; Adolfo “Billy” Ramirez (Gloria), Adam Ramirez (Kathy) of Albuquerque, NM, Joe Ramirez (Elizabeth) of Torreon, NM and Frank Ramirez (Dolores) of Artesia, one sister Mary Ellen “Mayo” Salmon (Juan deceased) of Albuquerque, NM. Twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces, God daughters Karina Ray Vargas of Houston Tx, Mely Anchondo, Nora Anchondo, and Isabel Quezada of Chihuahua Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Joe and Maria Ramirez, brother Larry (Talo), brother Sammy Ramirez, sister Margie (Ray) Artiaga and sister Tomasita “Connie” (Elias) Doporto”.

“Becky” brightened the lives of everyone who knew her with her smile, tender heart, sense of humor, and love of life. Even in her struggles, she trusted that somehow God was her strength.

Her Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home, 2256 N. Edwards Ave. Mt. Pleasant Tx, 75455 on Friday, August 9, 2019. The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 2:00pm and then the Celebration of life memorial service will begin at 3pm.
