Randall Shortnacy

Funeral Services for Randall Lee "Rose" Shortnacy, age 48, will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Trinity Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at Trinity Baptist Church at 12:00 P.M. prior to the service. Bro Shiles Hubbell, Jeff Julian, and Dr. Pete Freeman will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Chuck Ham, Randy Hinton, Raymond Doss, Stevie Joe Evans, Mark Stacks, Bill Douglas Jr., Gary Elliot, and Rex Amerson serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Mount Vernon Class of 1983.
Mr. Shortnacy passed away Wednesday January 22, 2014 at the Denton Regional Hospital. He was born on May 8, 1965 in Mount Pleasant to Davy Shortnacy and Pennye Sheridan. Mr. Shortnacy was a former East Texas Radio broadcaster, sports writer, photographer and disc jockey. Randy was an avid sports lover, coach, and friend and was loved by many.
He is survived by his father and step mother, Davy and Paula Shortnacy of Mount Pleasant, his mother, Pennye Sheridan of Mount Pleasant, wife Christina McBurney of Corinth, daughters and son-in-law, Susan and Eric Chiles of Vilseck Germany, Lauren Shortnacy of Mount Pleasant, Lindsay Shortnacy of Mount Pleasant, and Avery McBurney of Corinth, brother and sister in law, Jason and Petra Shortnacy of Frisco; granddaughter Mylee Sue Chiles; special aunt, Peggy Douglas; niece and nephew, Ava and Asa Shortnacy and numerous other nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Mr. Shortnacy was preceded in death by his grandparents; Geraldine Yarbrough and Louis Gaddis; and James Monroe and Rosilee Shortnacy.

Memorials can be made to the Cypress basin Hospice and to the Titus County Cares.
