Odis Herrin

Odis L. "Toogie" Herrin, age 88, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in Mount Pleasant. Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Whittaker officiating. Interment will follow at Bridges Chapel.
Odis was born March 5, 1927 in Hamlin, TX to Edward Columbus Herrin and Myrtle Herrin. He was a member of the United States Army during WWII. He retired from Gaylord Container after 38 years of service.
He is survived by his son, Dale E. Herrin of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Shirley A. Bickle of Garland, and Janita R. Herrin of Corpus Christi; two brothers, Bobby Ross Herrin and Lecil Herrin both of Mount Pleasant; three grandchildren, Collin Folsom of Conway, AR; Blaine Clay of Irving, and Elisha Abbott of Frisco; one great-granddaughter, Trinity Faith Johnston of Conway, AR.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Herrin; parents; a son, David R. Herrin; and daughter, Charlotte S. Herrin.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. before the service.
