Nita Cobb Watson, age 79, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, passed away on October 24, 2022, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Nita was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on December 21, 1942, to parents Howard and Juanita Cobb. Her husband, the love of her life, was Wilburn Albert Watson.
Nita, an avid reader and accomplished crossword-er, attained her Master’s degree during college and worked for many years as an accomplished elementary school teacher. She was an ardent Christian and a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Nita is survived by her son Jason Watson and his wife Angela of Cedar Park;, daughter, Lynnette Tabor of Mt. Pleasant, granddaughter Ashley Raylynn Tabor;, sister Lynda Gibson and husband Jerry, brother Howard Cobb of Quitman, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family, friends, and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Albert Watson, parents, Howard and Juanita Cobb, and son-in-law, David Tabor.
Funeral Services for Nita will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 10:00 A.M at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. There will be a Visitation one hour prior to the Funeral Services beginning at 9:00 A.M. Graveside will follow after the Funeral Services at Nevill’s Chapel Cemetery.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in her honor at the Martha Laird Chapter - Daughters of the American Revolution or St. Andrews UMC.
