Nina Mae (Howk) Clawson, age 83, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2013 at her home in Cookville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the Nevill's Chapel Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Glen Griffith, Bro Al Baker, and Bro Rusty Denny officiating. Visitation will be held at the Curry-Welborn Funeral Home on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
Mrs. Clawson was born in Terrell TX on May 20, 1930 to William and Georgia Johnston Howk. She married J.B. (Jimmy) Clawson on October 29, 1948 in Glade Springs. She was retired from the Pleasant Oil Company. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Roger and Shirley Clawson of Cookville, two daughters and son in laws, Ann and Jerry Frost of Bryans Mill and Sandra and Danny Clark of Mt. Pleasant. Foster son and wife, Bro. Rusty Denny and Nora of Two Grey Hills, New Mexico. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Shane and Demanda Frost of Cookville, Brittany and Israel Rubio of Mt. Pleasant, Juleigh and Bryce Stickney of Abilene, Kelli and Mike Casselle of Van, Shannon Clawson of Daingerfield, Buck and Wendy Walton of De Kalb and Rene Titsworth of Mt. Vernon, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. (Jimmy) Clawson, her parents, William and Georgia Howk, a sister and four brother in-laws and three grandsons.
Memorials can be made to the Nevill's Chapel Youth Group in her honor.
