Lou Ann Folsom

Funeral service for Lou Ann Folsom, age 80, of Mount Pleasant, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Junior Folsom, Brandon Folsom, James Folsom, J.R. Folsom, Victor Olvera, and Cole Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Folsom, Kyle Folsom, and Austin Folsom. Mrs. Folsom passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. 

Lou Ann Folsom was born August 14, 1944, in Huntsville, Texas to Loren and Marie Breder. She graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and spent several years working at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK. While there, she met and married her beloved husband of 40 years, Ira Clarence Folsom Sr and her three stepchildren. Together, they spent 27 years travelling the USA before stopping in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Lou was a long-time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and led the church music program. 

She is survived by her stepson, Ira Clarence Folsom Jr, and his wife, Nancy, her 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Paul Breder, her husband, her stepdaughter, Viola May Folsom, her stepson, Erwin Folsom, and her step daughter-in-law, Kay Folsom.
