On Saturday, February 13, 2021, Linda Gail Amerson, loving wife and mother to 5 children, passed away at the age of 70 surrounded by family.
Linda was born December 15, 1950 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Robert Lowell and Dorothy Pauline (Lunsford) Leake. She was one of 7 children.
She loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. She was an avid gardener and had an amazing green thumb. She especially enjoyed gathering with the family to shell purple hull peas. She also enjoyed teaching her children various activities of daily living.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James Rex Sellers and Hardy Dean Leake, and brother-in-law Robert (Bob) Lewis Dougherty, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Michael R. Amerson, 5 children, Lance Alexander, Aaron Alexander, Jared Alexander, Morgan Foudray, and Megan Telles, 10 grandchildren, sisters, Brenda Zaijeck, Lanelle Dougherty, Teresa Kerr, and brother, William Leake.
Visitation will be held at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on Monday, February 22nd, 2021 from 6pm-8pm. Funeral services will also be held at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home on Tuesday February 23rd, 2021 at 10am.
To honor Linda’s memory, in lieu of flowers, she has requested donations be made to Love a Child @ loveachild.givingfuel.com.
