Kenneth Griffin

Kenneth Paul Griffin, age 78, of Mount Pleasant, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home with John David Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Cooper's Chapel Cemetery with Robert Holt, Seth Aydelott, Sam Halley, Bo Halley, Bill McNutt, Justin Grissom and Mickey Holt serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jackie Stinson, James Lee Holt and Jo Grissom. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Curry-Welborn Funeral Home.
Mr. Griffin was born in Sugar Hill, Texas on March 29, 1935, the son of Paul Griffin and Vada Riddle Lum.
He is survived by six sisters, Earnestine Hess of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Darlene Maloy and husband Bill of Texarkana, Texas, Joann Ellis and husband Tom of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Janice Hargrove and husband Burx of Gilmer, Texas, Pauline Griffin of Mount Pleasant, Texas and Mary Jane Scarborough of Goodyear, Arizona; two brothers, Henry Griffin and wife Mary of Quinlan, Texas and Wallace Griffin and wife Sandra of Mount Pleasant, Texas; a daughter, Vonda Peacock of Mount Pleasant, Texas; two granddaughters, Dusti Farley of Sallisaw, Oklahoma and Kayla Story of Winnsboro, Texas; two grandsons, Justin Peacock of Corpus Christi, Texas and Randy Peacock of Ft. Worth, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Brooke Horton and Ashlynn Peacock, both of Kilgore, Texas; two great-grandsons, Ashton Farley of Sallisaw, Oklahoma and Rilynn Roberts of Winnsboro, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Randy Griffin and a granddaughter, Tamara Peacock.
