Johnny Carnes

Johnny Rex Carnes, 75, of Mount Pleasant, TX, passed away on January 3, 2022, in Mount Pleasant. Memorial services will be held on January 15, 2022, at Highland Park Baptist church at 10:00am with Bro. Tony Lawson officiating.

Johnny was born on December 28, 1946, to James and Buelah (Taft) Carnes. He married Patsy Temples on November 8, 1969, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. He was a retired forklift operator at Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation.

He is survived by his wife Patsy R. Carnes and his children Deanna Ewing (husband Dennis) of Cuthand TX, Cathy Cota (husband James) of Mt. Pleasant TX., and Sandie Larrison of Mt. Vernon TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ellie Ewing, Makenzie Cota, Ethan Cota, Evan Cota, and Dakota Sanchez, Jeffery Brooks (wife Stephanie), and Elizabeth Ewing. all of Mount Pleasant. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death by his mother Buelah Mae Carnes, father James A. Carnes, brother James Carnes, brother Ray Carnes, brother Joe Carnes, sister Joyce Pettigrew, sister Dot McFerrin, grandson Doyle Brooks.
