Joe Werthen

Joe D. Werthen Sr. age 79 of Mt. Vernon passed away surrounded by his family in Tyler Texas on Jan. 22. 2019. Joe was born in Waco Tx. on Jan. 14th 1940 to JT and Dorthy Werthen in Waco. He married Venita Martin in August 1973 in Angleton Tx. He is survived his sister Judy and husband Ronnie Shotwell of Waco Tx. His sons Terry and wife Patti of Daingerfield, JD and wife Lisa of Pittsburg, Joe and wife Victoria of Copperas Cove Tx. Billy and wife Bridget of Hattiesburg Ms. Daughters Paula and husband Ron Hill of Santa Fe Tx., and Barbara Werthen of Portland Or. 18 grand kids, 30 great grand kids. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Venita. His parents JT, Dorothy, and Jack. His daughter Violet Pixley, sister Barbara Haskins and brother Carroll Wayne.

There will be a visitation held on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. A service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Curry-Welborn Funeral Home.
