Joe Anthony Cardenas, 28, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Mt. Pleasant. Visitation will be 7:00pm until 9:00pm Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00pm Thursday, August 7, 2014 at St Jude Catholic Church in San Antonio. Burial will follow in San Jose Burial Park in San Antonio under the direction of Curry-Welborn Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Joe Anthony Cardenas was born March 26, 1986 in San Antonio, Texas to Hector De La Cruz and Patricia De La Cruz. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 2005 and worked for Trinity Rail as a welder. He married Angela Marie Guerrero in April 2010.

Joe is survived by his wife Angela Marie Guerrero of Mt. Pleasant; sons Joe Anthony Cardenas, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Jacob Cardenas of Mt. Pleasant, Jayden Cardenas of Mt. Pleasant and Carlos Flores of Mt. Pleasant; daughters Jayana Cardenas of San Antonio and Avery Cardenas of Mt. Pleasant; Parents Hector and Patricia De La Cruz of Mt. Pleasant; brothers Hector De La Cruz of Mt. Pleasant and Andrew De La Cruz of Mt. Pleasant; sisters Alexandria Carrillo of San Antonio and Kasandra De La Cruz of Mt. Pleasant; Maternal Grandmother Gloria Medrano of San Antonio; Paternal Grandparents Cruz and Mary Lou De La Cruz of Mt. Pleasant; nieces Mylah Carrillo, Sofia Guerrero and Aliya Guerrero all of San Antonio.
