Funeral services for Frederick “Wayne” Woods, age 80, of Clarksville, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Bogata Church of God with Sister Dorothy Cannon and Sister Janice Freeman officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Russell, William Dixon, Pete Dixon, Luther Waller, Steve Cannon, Daniel (Bud) Hinson, and Jimmy Keith Dixon. Honorary pallbears will be Mike (Dukus) Henson, Clarence Watts, and C.R. Morris. Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. at the church prior to service. Mr. Woods was called home to be with his lord and savior on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at his residence. 

Frederick “Wayne” Woods, also known as “Bubba”, or just “Wayne” to all his friends and family, was born on June 1, 1944, in Perth, Australia to Fred Houston Woods and Dorothy Pearl Hubble. “Wayne” served in the Army from June of 1963 to June of 1969. He was an E3, and was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana and Fort Lewis, Washington state and then transferred to Washington, D.C. before coming home to Johntown, TX. He moved and worked on a big ranch in Cotton City, NM before moving to Talco, TX and becoming a family man. Wayne raised his three boys in Talco TX., where they all attended the Calvary Baptist Church, and he was a member of the Men’s Missionary. He also served on the volunteer fire department in Talco for years and was a truck driver for Hinton Drilling Company before retiring. 

“Wayne” is survived by his three sons; Michael Alford (Laura) of Frisco, TX, Bradley Wayne Woods (Brandy) of Wimberley, TX, Jesse Lyn Woods (Christine) of Forney, TX, his bonus daughter, Cheryl Timms of Mineral Wells, TX, his sisters; Charlie Harper of Dekalb, TX, and Wyndell Dixon (Pete) of Avery, TX, his brother, Charles Richard Morris (Jeanette) of Waxahachie, TX, his aunts; Tina Romans Thomas and Connie Romans of Lewisville, TX, his nieces; Jodie Marie Dixon-Nichols-Unti (Paul) of Gillette, WY, Pam Murphy (Todd) of Waxahachie, TX, Dottie Louise Hall Ottinger of Las Vegas, NV, his nephews; William Anthony Dixon (Denise) of Paris, TX, Jimmy Keith Dixon (June) of Vernal, UT, Stephen Michael Robert Nichols (Brittany) of Rapid City, SD, Elias Clint Ottinger of Las Vegas, NV. 

He is also survived by numerous other great nieces and nephews, and his cousins; Vickie (Gill) McNaught, of Perth Australia, Storm Shirley Marinich (Bates) of Perth, Australia, Ann Kay Williams-Moore (Gary) of Cuthand TX, and Bobby Houston (Linda) of Plano, TX. He leaves behind a special four-legged friend, his best and faithful buddy, Rocky Balboa Woods.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Carole (Screws) Woods, his parents, Fred Woods and Dorothy Hubble, his dad, Charlie Vaughn Morris, his son, Baby Woods, and his Maternal and Paternal grandparents.
