Doris Spears

Doris Spears, 79, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 in Pittsburg. Graveside service will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Colony Cemetery with Rev. Randy Spears officiating. Services are under the direction of Curry-Welborn Funeral Home.

Doris was born June 20, 1935 in Rains County, Texas to Charlie Dewey McCollum and Eunice Irene Bullard McCollum. She married Jimmy Spears October 2, 1963 in Terrell, Texas. She worked as a claims adjuster for Sentry Insurance Company, and she was a member of Bridges Chapel United Methodist Church.

Doris is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Jimmy Spears of Mt. Pleasant; daughter Paula Gaviorno and husband Paul of Desoto, Texas; son Mark Spears and wife Debbie of Red Oak, Texas; grandsons Duston, Brandon and David; great grandsons Corbin, Cameron and Braydon; sister Joyce Taylor of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Jerry McCollum and Paul McCollum.
