Clyde Dean "Butch" Hood, 70, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at his residence surrounded by loved ones. Services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Curry-Welborn Funeral Home. The family will have a visitation immediately following the service. Butch was born January 8, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to Clyde Bentley and Bertha Lee Hood. Butch married his wife of 49 years, Nita, on March 12, 1964 and eventually made their home in the Mt. Pleasant area in 1968. He was an owner/operator truck driver for over 45 years with no accidents. He loved his family, but loved his trucking family as well. He believed and taught his children and grandchildren family is more important than a blood relationship; it is a commitment, trust, and love you share with people. He is survived by his wife Nita Hanks Hood of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Amber Hood of Mt. Pleasant, daughter Ginger Green and husband Joey of Talco; and a special great-great niece, Misti Richeson of Mt. Pleasant; grandsons Laramie Lum, Cawyer Currey, Paden Lum, Jace Lum, Ruston Jones and Hunter Green all of Mt. Pleasant; a brother Bobby Hood and wife Stephanie of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
